The book is an immensely useful source book of modern Indian history. It discusses at length how the people of Punjab and Haryana fought for their freedom. how the Punjab Government doused the communal fire in the wake of the partition, 1947 and how the uprooted people from West Punjab (Pakistan) were `settled` are described in detail. The creation of the state of Haryana and later developments have also been discussed at length.
These are memoirs of a man who played a significantly leading part in all these activities. We get an intimate picture of the things here.
