The book is the edited version of the lecture notes provided by the eminent scientists and researchers of international level during a Regional workshop organized by the Indo-French Centre for Groundwater Research (IFCGR) in Hyderabad during June 17-21, 2004 and sponsored by UNESCO, New Delhi and MOWR, Govt. of India.
