Ayodhya, 6 December 1992 is a compilation of a dialogue that took place on 6 March 1993. Twenty-five eminent persons from all walks of life including, Arun Shourie, K.C. Kulish, M.L. Sondhi, Tavleen Singh, got together to discuss the aftermath of the demolition of the Babri Masjid. Their anguish was palpable. Like L.K.Advani, said, ‘My life’s work has been destroyed’. All regretted the ‘act of vandalism, the breakdown of order, defiance of law and of failing to keep the given word’. The publication of this ‘dialogue’ is an attempt to release some of that pent-up steam. The tone and content of this book clearly demonstrates the participants’ concern for our Republic.
