Description: This book is a record of the major recommendations of the Education Commission for reforming education. It includes reflections on their implementation for growth of the system and the benefits accrued to the society as a whole. The authors, who are senior academics, have described the latest trends and post-Education Commission developments. The book is divided into five chapters: School Education, Teacher Education, Higher Education, Science Education and Research, and Value Based Education. Each Chapter contains the thoughts of Prof. D. S. Kothari, expressed through his various writings, lectures and addresses. These are followed by an Epilogue.
