This book deals with the problems faced by Muslims in the post-modern situation. In other words, the essays given here deals with the changes taking place around us and to help theology to make changes more acceptable.
All may not agree with all that is said here nor is it necessary to agree. What is important is to raise questions, not necessarily to agree with answers. Questions encourage us to think afresh. To submit without thinking is not faith, it is escape from faith. This is precisely what the readers will find here.
About Author :
Asghar Ali Engineer, the author of the book, is an internationally known scholar of Islam. His work on communal and ethnic violence is seen as a highly valuable contribution to the subject. He has to his credit over two dozen books written or edited by him. He is associated with promotion of communal harmony and peace. Currently, he is director of the Centre for the Study of Society and Secularism, Mumbai (India).
