A collection of 1215 verses written by the Andhra mystic Vamana. Vamana was born in 1652 to a family of a farmer. Upon renouncing he became a sanyasi and took up the name Vamana, which in Sanskrit means loom. Many of his aphorisms have become proverbs. This verses are chiefly of 3 types; Moral, satirical and mystical. Most of the verses are written in 4 lines. The original Telugu verses are given along with its translation by the great Telugu Scholar C.P. Brown.
