The children of any country , hold a mirror to not only the society they live in, but also the country as a whole. Courageous chikdren are truly the jewels in the crown for any nation. As an effort to give due recognition and appreciation to the acts of bravery performed by the children of India, the National Bravery Awards were instituted. It was in the Year 1957, that two children were first rewarded for the presence of mind and bravery .Since then ICCW decided to confer National Award for bravery on Children every year. The book, Bravery Award : from Prelude to 2003 attempts to unfold the entire history of these awards, when and how they were started, the awardees past and present , the amazing and motivating stories of valour , as well as some exceptional winners of the past. Photographs and caricatures have been included in the book to make it more interesting and illustrative.
