The book is the edited version of the lecture notes provided by the eminent scientists and researchers of international level during a Regional workshop organized by the Indo-French Centre for Groundwater Research (IFCGR) in Hyderabad during June 17-21, 2004 and sponsored by UNESCO, New Delhi and MOWR, Govt. of India. The following major themes were included in the lecture:- Hydrogeology of hard rocks and Aquifer parameter estimation for characterization of hard rock systems; Regionalization of aquifer parameters and groundwater balance/budgeting; Optimal network design and aquifer modeling for groundwater management.
