This is an anthology of prose, poetry and drama compiled with the intention of not only introducing students to literature but to sensitise them, through these pieces,to a variety of social issues that they will encounter beyond the classroom. Texts by Pablo Neruda, Chinua Achebe, Joseph Stiglitz, Rabindranath Tagore and Mina Assadi feature in this anthology and the issues dealt with range from conflict within the private spaces of the family to the different sides of globalisation.
