Flexible AC Transmission System (FACTS) i.e., alternating current transmission systems incorporating power electronic based system and other static controllers to enhance controllability and increase power transfer capability is a latest development in electrical power systems. This is an application of power electronics to power system.FACTS is a core subject for undergraduate and postgraduate students in electrical engineering to touch the future trends in electrical power system.
