The work is an interesting specimen of Hindu critical ability. The author successively asses in review the sixteen philosophical systems current in the fourteenth century in the South India and fives what appeared to him to be their most important tenets, adn the principal arguments by which their followers endeavoured to maintain them. The Sixteen systems presented in the book are Charavaka, Bauddha, Arhats or Jaina, Ramanuja, Purna-prajna, Nakulisa, Saiva, Pratyabhijha or Recognitive, Rasesvara or Mercurial, Caiseshika or Auluka, Akshapada or Nyaya, Jaimniya, Paniniya, Sankhya, Patanjala, Vedanta or system or Samkara Acharya. The book includes an appendix also.
