Psychological disorders are patterns of behavioural or psychological symptoms that impact multiple areas of life which creates distress for the person experiencing these symptoms. The term psychopathology may also be used to denote behaviors or experiences which are indicative of mental illness, even if they do not constitute a formal diagnosis.
