He received his Ph.D. from the Max–Planck–Institute for Biochemistry in Martinsried / Munich where he worked in the group of Professor Robert Huber (Nobelprize laureate in 1988). Jörg Knäblein holds a leading position in technology scouting at Bayer Schering Pharma AG, Berlin.
