Dr. Hariharan is a wellknown shipping expert based in Mumbai. A Ph. D. from Mumbai University (1964), he worked in many leading shipping organisations, the last being the Scindia Steam Navigation Co. Ltd. until 1988. Since then he is practising as a Consultant: Shipping management and Training.He is an ardent researcher and has written 6 books, contributed over 60 research papers/articles on shipping and allied fields. His latest is `A Text Book on Container and Multimodal Transport Management (2002).He was National Coordinator for UNCTAD training project on shipping (198088). He was a member of the Board of the Container Corporation of India Ltd. (199698).He is a popular visiting faculty to numerous management schools in Mumbai and outside, including the World Trade Institute of MVIRDC World Trade Centre, Mumbai.He was awarded `Best Faculty 1997` by World Trade Institute (WTC) and Best Faculty 2000 at national level by the Indian Institute of Materials Management.
