The scholarly work starts with the geographical background of the many countries located in the much varied region of Central Asia- Bounded roughly on the west by the caspian sea, on the south by the Persia, Afghanistan, India and Tibet, on the east by the Chinese Empire and on the north by the river Irtish. It then goes on to describe the early history, various dynasties, kingdom, war and peace between the kings from time to time , inhabitants and their customs ,migrations of population, important adventure routes etc.
