This book is on CRPF and the diverse fields in which it functions: be it normal Law and Order duties, anti-insurgency, anti-naxalism, counter -terrorism or election duties, to mention only a few, right from its rising on 27th July, 1939. The book highlights the rich traditions of CRPF mentioning the difficult conditions under which it functions either at the dizzy heights of Jammu & Kashmir, scorching desearts of Rajasthan or inhospitable terrain and adverse climate conditions of the North Eastern region. Besides dealing with the `Imperatives of Future` in the CRPF for improvements in its functioning in the times to come, it also brings out the shortcomings of the set up with out concealing its anguish.
