Beginning with a discussion of the basic operational amplifier (op-amp) internal circuit, the text explains the operation of voltage followers, noninverting amplifiers and inverting amplifiers. Op-amp parameters and performance limitations are investigated next, followed by the design and analysis of direct-coupled and capacitor-coupled op-amp circuits. The topics discussed include biasing requirements, determination of resistor and capacitor values for a specified gain and frequency response, and input and output impedances.
