This is the second volume on the subject of women`s education. The first volume entitled Women`s Education in India covered the period up to 1988. Being a unique work of its kind, the book received rare reviews and proved so popular that a reprint edition had to be published within a short period of its release. Present volume comprises three Parts. Part I is devoted to recent developments in women`s education in India since 1988. Besides giving an overview of women`s education in India, it includes significant documents concerning women`s education. Part II includes women`s educational indicators covering India as a whole, States, Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes and District wise women`s literacy. Part III includes women`s education in the world, challenges to the year 2,000, decade of the Girl child and International response. It also provides a comparative study of educational indicators covering a wide gamut of women`s education in respect of 145 countries.
