This book attempts to identify and validate the STS (Science, Technology and Society) themes in science education at upper primary stage that suit Indian context. It analyses the contents of the Haryana State Science textbooks of classes VI, VII and VIII in terms of the weightage assigned to various validated STS themes in science education. It further finds out the sub-units in the lessons where there is possibility of imparting STS themes either by modifying the presentation or by evolving a new strategy to transact them.
