Textbook of Environment & Ecology is designed to serve as a textbook for the first year undergraduate course on Environment and Ecology offered by the Uttar Pradesh Technical University. This book endeavours to generate awareness about environmental concerns among students. The book introduces the reader to the perils facing the environment and the importance of environmental resources for human sustenance. Beginning with an introduction to Environmental Studies, the book goes on to discuss environmental problems such as depleting natural resources and imbalanced ecosystems, environmental pollution and toxic waste disposal, disease control and disaster management, and society and sustainable development.
